Congratulations!

After a flurry of fantastic submissions and some tough decision-making, the results are in! Two of our snowplows officially have names, meet Plowie McPlowFace and The Big Leplowski! Congratulations to David K. for being the first to suggest Plowie McPlowFace in the Urban area and Dalton H. for The Big Leplowski for the Rural area. You’ve earned bragging rights, so when you see them clearing the streets, you can proudly say, “I named that!” A huge thank you to everyone who participated in this fun initiative. Keep an eye out for these freshly named plows and their amazing operators clearing your streets this winter.

Snow Clearing Facts:

The Name that Plow initiative is all in good fun, but snow clearing in Port Hope is serious business. With each upcoming winter weather event, our road crews are responsible for clearing approximately 681 kilometres of roadway. The Municipality is able to accomplish this with over 11 pieces of plowing equipment.
