What is a pump track?
Pump tracks are looped, paved tracks with berms, rollers and turns designed for riders using bikes, scooters, skateboards and wheelchairs. Instead of peddling or pushing, riders use natural momentum to ‘pump.’ Pump parks can be natural gathering places for youth, fostering community, social interaction and physical activity.
Why are we doing this?
Pump parks encourage active living and create an inclusive outdoor space for riders of all ages and abilities—including those on bikes, scooters, skateboards, and wheelchairs. This project is funded by a $200,000 Ontario Trillium Foundation Capital grant, awarded to support outdoor recreation and active lifestyles. It was driven by strong community interest, including support from youth and residents who presented to the Parks, Recreation and Culture (PRC) Advisory Committee in April 2022.
Since receiving the grant in August 2024, PRC staff have worked to secure a contractor through a competitive bid process and are now looking for community input.
What features will it have?
Well, that is still to be confirmed (take the survey to provide your input). Check out the features below to see what has been proposed by our contractor.

Now, tell us what you think...
We’d love to hear your thoughts on the proposed design, as well as your riding experience, skill level, and interest in the project. Gathering this information from our community helps the contractor tailor the course to match the appropriate skill levels and include features that reflect our community needs. Our goal is to create a track that truly represents and supports our community's abilities and wants.
