Thank you for your feedback on this proposed project. There is currently no start date planned for the commencement of this sewer replacement. When more information is available, it will be posted on this project page and at porthope.ca/news.
The sewer system (sanitary forcemain and gravity sewer) along Shuter Street is in need of replacement. Due to the poor state of this infrastructure, the Municipality is proceeding with the design and construction phase of this project.
This project is part of an Environmental Assessment process, which includes public engagement opportunities.
The project will involve:
- Construction starting at the Mill Street Pumping Station, running eastward along Shuter Street
- Replacement forcemain consisting of a 350mm pipe
- Replacement gravity sewer pipe consisting of 250mm and 375mm sections with 1200mm maintenance holes 100m apart
- All disturbed areas during construction, including culverts and driveways, will be reinstated
Public Engagement and Information
More information on this project will be available at the Public Information Centre (PIC) on Thursday, March 30, 2023 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in Council Chambers at Town Hall. Staff and the Consultant The Greer Galloway Group Inc, will be on site to share information and answer questions.
We are interested in hearing any comments or concerns that you may have about this project. A public database of comments will be maintained and, except for personal information, included in the study documentation that will be made available for public review.
After the completion of the PIC, a public comment form will be opened on this page for residents to provide their comments and feedback. Please complete the comment form by April 13 at 4:00 p.m.
