Background
Planning and research is under way for the Sylvan Glen Bridge Replacement project. The Municipality of Port Hope is currently undertaking a Municipal Class Environmental Assessment (MCEA). The Sylvan Glen Bridge is located on Sylvan Glen Road approximately 0.7 km south of 4th Line Road at the Ganaraska River. The study includes a review of structure replacement alternatives, and associated potential impacts on the study area environment.
Subject to comments received and necessary approvals, the Municipality intends to proceed with the planning, design, and construction of this project.
Project Commencement
Sylvan Glen Road closed on Monday, July 24th, 2023 to begin in-water work for the bridge replacement project. This closure included the Bridge, the Sylvan Glen Conservation Area and access to the Ganaraska Hiking Trail, located on the north side of the Bridge.
